I love this spring weather, and enjoy spending time outside in the sunlight.The other day, I was sweeping the sidewalk, and I saw a weed.Then I saw another, and another.I cannot stop pulling them, and before you know it, I have a pile of weeds!“You know,” I told my husband, “we need to get some weed and feed on this grass!”I started thinking about how one product could be spread in the grass, and something about it can distinguish between the weed and the grass.It could fertilize and nurture the lawn as it becomes thick and green, but kill the weeds without harming the surrounding grass.
You know, God’s Word is just like that in our life.When we spread it into our daily living, it strengthens and nurtures us spiritually, and then outwardly it brings peace, joy, and God’s endless blessings to our life.Everyone can see the beautiful effects.Meanwhile those things that aren’t the character of Christ begin to dry-up and die without harming our self esteem, or even changing the individual personality that God created in us.
It is important, and even our responsibility, to make sure we have a good diet of God’s Word.We need it more that once a week at church, but when applied regularly produces a beautiful, rich life for everyone to enjoy!Take time this spring to take pleasure in the beauty of the outdoors.Take a ride around your neighborhood or community, and see the beautiful flowers and green that is now overtaking the dead brown effects of winter.Then make it a point to get into the Word, study it, read Christian books, and watch your life blossom.Others will enjoy your beauty!
Oh, and the grass at our home is becoming a beautiful rich shade of green!
